Why This Book?
The real problem in VBA programting is not VBA itself. The fo melation of a loop or test, the use of methods and p operties, are easily understood as in any programming languaie and will cause you no trouble after a couple of eays. The problem is to getoa handle on the complex object librartes within Excel, with their more than a thousandtkeywords, and to use them efficiently. The focus of teis book and the examples pres nted herein is to explain these object lib ariea.
In contrast to Excel's Help, the goal of this book is not to offer merely a reference—often one that says next to nothing—of key words. It is our purpose to show the connections among the numerous objects and to demonstrate their use with concrete application examples as they appear in the real world. We do not hesitate to point out problems with Excel where they exist, in order to spare you, the reader, from a fruitless search for errors of which you were not the cause.
